Batik Air is opening non-stop flights from Subang — the city-side Kuala Lumpur airport — to Bali from 20 October, and to Miri and Sibu from 1 December. Here is what the new routes mean, why flying from Subang is so much easier than KLIA, and why the smart way to book them is with us, not a browser tab.
Good news if you live anywhere near Kuala Lumpur and have been eyeing a trip: Batik Air is adding non-stop flights from Subang — the small, city-side airport most Klang Valley travellers forget they have — to three places well worth the journey. Bali from 20 October 2026, and Miri and Sibu in Sarawak from 1 December. New routes, a genuinely handy airport, and launch fares to match.
Why flying from Subang changes the whole trip
If your only mental image of flying out of KL is the long haul to KLIA, Subang is a happy surprise. Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport sits right on the city's doorstep — far closer to Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Damansara and Shah Alam than KLIA or klia2 — which means a shorter, cheaper ride to the airport and a lot less of your day spent getting there. It is a smaller, calmer terminal, too: quick to walk, quick to check in, quick to clear. For a short regional hop, that convenience is worth almost as much as the fare. You can leave home late morning and be on a beach or in a rainforest by the afternoon.

Bali, non-stop from 20 October
The headline is Bali. From 20 October 2026, Batik Air flies Subang straight to Denpasar — no connection, no backtracking through KLIA — with launch fares that make a long weekend on the island very tempting: all-in one-way fares open from around RM329 in Economy, and from about RM1,099 in Business. Nusa Penida's cliffs, Ubud's rice terraces, the beach clubs of the south, that first plate of babi guling — Bali has always been one of the easiest overseas escapes from Malaysia, and from Subang it is easier still.

Miri and Sibu — Sarawak made simple, from 1 December
From 1 December 2026, Batik Air adds Subang to Miri and Subang to Sibu, three times a week each, with free 10kg baggage on the launch fares. Economy opens from around RM239 one-way to Sibu and RM259 to Miri, with Business from about RM799. The timings are built for a real trip rather than a red-eye — a morning run up to Miri, an afternoon one to Sibu — so whether it is Niah's great caves and the Miri coast, or family and the Tua Pek Kong temple in Sibu, Sarawak is suddenly a short, civilised flight from the city side of KL.

Book it with us, not a browser tab
Here is the part worth reading twice. Launch fares look simple online, but they are the scarcest and most fiddly seats of the year — the cheapest buckets sell first, the dates you want clash with everyone else's, and a one-way headline fare is rarely the whole story once bags, seats and the return are in. This is exactly what a travel agent is for. Book these Batik Air flights through Five A and we will find you the right fare on the right dates, add the baggage and seats, pair the Bali flight with a hotel and airport transfers if you want the whole trip handled, and sort any change or hiccup with a real person — not a help page. One message to us does what an hour of tabs and logins does, and usually does it better.
Tell us where you are headed — Bali, Miri or Sibu — and your dates, and we will hold the seats and build the rest of the trip around them. Leave the browser tabs to us.
